Urban growth or urbanization is also referred <u>to as urban sprawl</u>. It means that <u>the movement of people from the populated place such as cities and town to the low density</u> or least occupied residential area. These lands are developed from the rural land. It is also described as <u>the development of undeveloped area</u>. The people move into these areas in order to find a more comfortable or better life.

Urbanization does have a number of negative consequences:

1. The urban development has change people thought about settling in a particular area. Now, they want to venture the other places.

2. It also increases the standard of living. The people now choose to travel more than usual.

3. The people now choose to live in an area which is less trafficked and calmer. It leads to the cutting of trees, poor infrastructure and loss of green cover.
