8 : 6

Now, we need to solve for the proportion.

8/6 = 28/x

Cross multiply.

8*x = 8x
6*28 = 168

8x = 168
8x/8 = 168/8
x= 168/8
x= 21

For 28 concerts, there are 21 symphonies.

Now, set up another proportion.

8/6 = x/42

Cross multiply

8*42 = 6x
6x= 336

6x/6 = 336/6
x= 336/6
x= 56

For 42 symphonies, there are 56 concerts.

Lets answer this:-

1st lets divide to see how many times 28 goes in 8. And then we will multiply....

28 ÷ 8 = 3.5

Now lets multiply to see how many symphonies are equal to 25 concerts. Lets do it:-

3.5 × 6 = 21

So, 21 symphonies are equal to 28 concerts.

Lets divide to see how many concerts are equal to 42 symphonies and the multiply to get our final answer.

42 ÷ 6 = 7

7 × 8 = 56.

So, 56 concerts are equal to 42 symphonies.

Hope I helped ya!!

Sharon borrowed $750 at 12% for one year. She paid a $20 processing fee. How much will she pay in interest?
Hunter-Best [27]

Answer:

$90

Step-by-step explanation:

The principal amount in the loan taken by Sharon is $750 . Note hat the $20 processing fee is a one time cost and is not included in the interest calculation.

Annual Rate of interest offered to Sharon is 12%

Time interval for the loan transaction is 1 year.

So the interest for 1 year is given by \[Principal * Rate * Year /100\]

\[750 * 12 * 1 /100\] = $90

So, Sharon will have to pay $90 as interest for the loan amount $750 borrowed for one year at the rate 12%.
