Queen Liliuokalani Queen of the Hawaiian Islands attempted to rid her people of American influence in the late 1800s.’

Further Explanations:

Queen Liliuokalani was the last queen of the “Kingdom of Hawaii”. She was the wife of the governor Owen Dominis. Her brother King Kalakaua died on 17th January 1891 leaving behind no heir to the throne. After his demise, she succeeded to the throne and introduced a new constitution in the nation as the prior Bayonet constitution was limiting the authority of the monarch and other Hawaiian politicians too much.

During that time Sugar plantation was the chief source of income of the country. Sugar trade amid America and Hawaii was totally in the hand of the merchants without any administrative limitation. To avoid any intervention and protect their trade, the merchant unified with the Americans and plotted to dispose of the monarch. To avoid this she attempted to drive her citizens off to America to reduce American influence. In 1893 queen was overthrown and a pro-American administration was assigned in the nation. Later she was offered pardon on the ailment that she has to pardon all those responsible for her despotism. She rejected the proposal and shifted to Washington Place until her demies.

What is Geopolitics?

Geopolitics is the study of the effects of geography on the balance of power in international affairs. Around the turn of the 20th century, the Swedish political scientist Rudolf Kjellén first used the term "geopolitics," which expanded throughout Europe in the years between World Wars I and II (1918–39) before becoming widely used during the latter.

After World War II, geopolitical theory lost favor due to its links to imperialistic Japanese and Nazi German aggression as well as because the development of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles diminished the importance of geographical variables in the global strategic balance of power.
