Answer:

because people are usually not allowed civic liberties, which would allow them to participate in the process of decision making. Those are usually strict regimes, which are enabling ruling class to do what they are pleased.

Explanation:

Absolute monarchies are created under a pretext that a ruler was appointed to reign by God himself.

Therefore his decisions and actions should not be questioned.

As a result of that belief rulers such as Louis XIV in France ruled without any restrictions.

UkoKoshka [18]

Answer:

Defamation, and she will win the suit.

Explanation:

Defamation refers to a false or misleading claim made by a party about another party, which harms or damages their reputation. The target of defamation can sue the offending party for this and demand a compensation.

Most states in the United States recognize the concept of defamation per se, that is, false statements that are inherently defamatory and that injure the reputation of the offended party, like accusing someone of committing a crime. What the plaintiff has to do to win a defamation suit is prove that the statement was made, that the statement was false, and that the person who made the false statement shared it with a third party. In our case, Caldwell was falsely accused of stealing by the security guard, and at least another store employee had knowledge of the situation. This fulfills the criteria needed for Caldwell to sue for defamation and win the suit.

In reference to the quote, why is judicial independence important please Answer in 2 to 3 complete sentences
frosja888 [35]

Answer:

Judicial independence refers to a concept which stated that the courts and judges who interpreted the law must be free from the influence of any other branch of the government.

The purpose of this independence is to ensure that every single human beings in this country are subjected to the same law, nobody can get away with their wrong doings regardless of their status.

This will make the people with high positions in the government become liable for their actions and forcing them to stay in the right path.

In what ways did religion shape all aspects of government and life in Sumer ?
charle [14.2K]

Answer:

Religion, although nowadays much disregarded as central to human life, was the epicenter of it in ancient times. And nowhere is that clearer than during the centuries in which ancient Babylonian cultures, one of which was Sumer, appeared.

Sumer, as said, was part of the greater Babylonian culture and they, like all the other Babylonian civilizations, were grounded by politheistic religion. Essentially, they believed in multiple divinities, which were really human-like, and who were responsible for controlling parts of human life, and the world itself.

First and foremost, religion shaped the way that Babylonians, and especially Sumer, believed. Their actions, behaviors, thoughts, everything, revolved around their beliefs in these deities. Religion also dictated social lifestyles, communication, and politics.

Finally, and most importantly, religion shaped the way that Sumer developed both socially and politically. Politically because initially the rulers in Sumer were priests, and for a very long time they were the ones who led Sumerian people. This tradition was later passed on to other civilizations which came in contact with Sumer, and with Babylonian civilizations. Second, when ruling was passed on from priests to kings, Sumerians believed that these kings were elected by the gods, and were representatives of the gods, and therefore, they believed in the divine intervention of deities on all aspects of their lives.

These are only a few of the ways in which religion shaped not just Sumer, especially on governmental aspects, but in other aspects of life as well.
