A psychological researcher designs a study to determine whether positive feedback affects student test performance. The research

er requires each student enrolled in AP Psychology to participate. Students are divided into 3 groups—positive feedback, negative feedback, and no feedback. After completing the Module 1 FRQ, students in Group 1 are provided with positive feedback about their work and encouraged to keep working hard. Students in Group 2 are given criticisms of their writing and encouraged to rethink taking the course. Students in Group 3 are only given a numeric score, no written feedback. After reading the feedback, participants complete a survey measuring self-esteem and take their Module 1 Exam. Test scores are compared for the three groups. Following the test, all participants are debriefed and the true nature of the research explained. Results of the study indicate that participants who received positive feedback on their FRQs scored on average of 8 points higher than students who received negative feedback or no feedback at all. Which of the following violations to ethical guidelines is committed in the study described?

Answer: Option D

Explanation:

The test groups were divided into three groups the positive, negative and no feedback groups. The positive groups got better scores than compared to the negative feedback group and no feedback group.

The ethical guidelines that is violated is the inappropriate use of deception. The group that got negative feedback. Intentionally their morale was downsided.

Deception is not ethical in case of psychological experiments however, in some cases it is allowed to keep the experiment unbiased.

Just one question. Its very simple, yet no one can answer it: Why do people die?
olga2289 [7]
People die because of the sin in the world, when Adam and Eve were created they were not supposed to get sick or die they were allowed to do anything in the garden God put them in except take the fruit from this one tree but they disobeyed God and ate the fruit so God punished them and made them work very hard for a living and told them that they will soon die and all of their children will too (Which we are there children). So that is why people die based on my religious reasons.

What type of outcomes does prison represent (positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, positive punishment, negative punis
Luden [163]

Answer:

negative punishment

Explanation:

Punishment  (positive or negative) decreases the chances that a particular behavioral reoccurs.

Handing a prison sentence to anyone that offends the laws of the state is an example of negative punishment based on available research. This is because, serving a prison sentence makes it more likely that the convict will commit the same crime again.

While many experts in criminal justice have observed that many ex-convicts tend to re-offend, the principles of positive punishment for convicts have been set out by Peter B. Wood in his paper titled "Exploring the Positive Punishment Effect Among Incarcerated Adult Offenders

"; American Journal of Criminal Justice 31(2):8-22; 2007; .

In his submission;

<em> "As the U.S. has pursued a policy of mass imprisonment for nearly  three decades, now boasts the highest incarceration rate in the world and returns  nearly 800,000 ex-convicts into our communities each year, more attention to this  issue is called for-particularly since it could be argued that, for many offenders,  criminal justice punishments promote future offending."</em>
