In the photo, it demonstrates that Native American or American Indians are/were rebelling against "white people" or American people , they (Native Americans) wanted more rights and more land. The Photo also demonstrates also how Native Americans wanted to encourage all Indians to be recognized by the US government, the American Indian Movement's goals were: the recognition of Indian treaties by the United States government, among other goals such as sovereignty and the protection of Native Americans and their liberties.
