Answer:

Advertising is a way for companies to show you something they made and make you want it which makes them money even if the product is terrible. Yes people are influenced by products because people see them and are like hey I want that and so they buy it but it could potentially be just a waste of money. Then they leave it sit around or throw it away which is a waste of money which could have been put to better use.
