A. The United States produces more oil than any other country
It would seem to most people that the U.S. doesn’t make a huge amount of oil since it imports so much, but the reason that so much is imported is due to the fact that the vast majority of that oil produced in country is saved in National oil reserves for future use in hard times.
The first major domestic crisis of the US government under the Constitution resulted from the federal government exercising its new right to tax the states in order to bring in more revenue to pay down the war debt.
The Soviet Union - they were the cause and driving force behind Communism in Eastern Europe from the 1920/30s into the 80s. Without their military power and influence, communism in Eastern Europe fell away.
