Crops like barley and rye were introduced. They brought wheat as well(thought wheat is originally from the middle east). They brought plants they got from Asia like yams, bananas, rice, sugar coffe etc.

Not only plants but domesticated animals like cattle sheep goats pigs and horses were also introduced.

Stalin monitored telephone lines, read mail and had spies everywhere. Those that opposed him were killed and his secret police patrolled Russia. All newspapers, magazines, etc had to be approved by the Soviet Union. Propaganda was also in every corner of Russia. By using propaganda, he could instill fear.
