breeding with and altering the population of wild salmon

the extra growth hormone could change the wild salmons reproductive fitness, could slow them down or make them less fertile or more fragile so they aren't able to spawn etc and reduce the wild population of salmon which would have large effects

there is a rainforest in BC that's survival relies on the nutrients that salmon bring when they spawn and die

It could also be scare mongering and have no negative effect, could be a net positive??
