For some vaccines, after a while, immunity begins to wear off. At that point, a “booster” dose is needed to bring immunity levels back up. This booster dose usually occurs several years after the initial series of vaccine doses is given.... hope this helps :)

Which of the zoonotic diseases discussed in the unit do you think you would be most interested in studying? Why?
Gelneren [198K]

Answer:

It would be interesting to study the "Eloba Virus disease" because I wanted to know why it is fatal and how people can prevent contracting it.

Explanation:

In order to know more about Ebola Virus disease, it would be best to learn what Zoonotic disease means.

Zoonotic disease- This is also known as "Zoonosis." This is defined as an infectious disease that is naturally transferred between animals and people. It can be caused by a parasite, virus or bacteria.

Examples of zoonotic disease are: bird flu, anthrax, bovine tuberculosis, cat scratch fever, ebola virus disease, etc.

Ebola Virus- This is a deadly disease that is cause by a group of viruses from the genus Ebolavirus. This disease can be contracted through direct contact with the infected person's or animal's body fluid. Once the virus enters the body, it breaks the body's first line of defense. This means that the person's immune system will weaken. The person will then experience fever and internal bleeding. Due to its fatality, Ebola virus disease is also being called Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever.

Studying the Ebola Virus disease will allow people to learn the best preventive measure from contracting it and will also bring awareness on the nature of the disease.
