Yes, any kind of force(contact or non-contact) can act as a centripetal force as long as it is a attractive force acting between two bodies

A train slows down as it pulls into a station. if the train is moving from your left to your right, what are the directions of t
navik [9.2K]

The directions of the vectors for velocity and acceleration are in the opposite directions.

  • The velocity vector is always in the direction of motion of the object. So, the direction of velocity is in the right from our point of view.
  • When there is a positive acceleration in the object the acceleration vector is in the direction of motion of the object. When there is a negative acceleration in the object the acceleration vector is in the opposite direction of motion of the object. So, the direction of velocity is in the left from our point of view.

Velocity vector is the rate of change of position of an object. Acceleration vector is the rate of change of velocity of an object.

Therefore, the directions of the vectors for velocity and acceleration are in the opposite directions.

What is the magnitude of the gravitational force acting on the sun due to the earth?The earth does not exert any gravitational f
Sholpan [36]

I haven't worked on Part-A, and I don't happen to know the magnitude of the gravitational force that the Sun exerts on the Earth.

But whatever it is, it's exactly, precisely, identical, the same, and equal to the magnitude of the gravitational force that the Earth exerts on the Sun.

I think that's the THIRD choice here, but I'm not sure of that either.

A body weights 50 N in air and 45 N when wholly immersed in water calculate (i) the loss in weight of the body in water (ii) the
Lelechka [254]

Answer:

difference  \: in \: weight = 150n - 100n = 50n

Now,buyantant force

difference \: in \: weight \: = volume(body) \times density \: of \: water \:  \times g

so;

50 =  {v}^{b}  \times 1 \times  {10}^{3}  \times 9.8m {s}^{2}

{v}^{b}  =  \frac{50}{1000 } \times 9.8

=  \frac{50}{9800}

= 0.0051

Now,

mass \: in \: air \:  = 150n =  \frac{150}{9.8kg}

density =  \frac{weght}{volume}

=  \frac{150}{0.0051}  \times 9.8 \\ x = 3000

And now,

specific \: density \:  =  \frac{density of \: the \: body}{density \: of \: water}

=  \frac{3000}{1000}

= 3

Hence that,specific density of a given body is 3

Which statements describe properties of stars? Check all that apply.
Shtirlitz [24]
One, three and five are correct.

Although if the second statement is saying that stars use gravitational force to support nuclear fusion which in turn produces energy then that would be correct, but I don’t think so :)
