Answer:

7:3

Step-by-step explanation:

Convert one of the measurements to the other before attempting to solve the question.

1 yard = 3 feet

Multiply both sides by 3 to get:

3 yards = 9 feet

Therefore the ratio would be

21:9

Simplify to 7:3 length to height.

Okay, so this is basically telling you that there is no solution. You don't have to worry about there being one. You just have to justify (or explain) why there isn't one.

Basically, neither y or x is equal to anything. You couldn't make x equal to a value in y because x and y are both together in the equation and equal to numbers.

We can always move a factor to the other side. So,

x-2y= -8

Add 2y to the other side.

x= -8+2y

Now, plug in -8+2y as x.

3(-8+2y)- 6y=-12

-24+6y-6y= -12

The 6y's cancel out. So, we can't figure out what y is.

-24=-12 <- no y.

These two lines are
parallel. They have direct proportion in each other. That is why there is no solution because the lines never cross. Parallel lines do not cross.

I hope this helps!

The area of a rectangle is square units. Factor this expression. Given your answer in part A, describe what you can conclude abo
Brrunno [24]

Answer:

The factored area of the rectangle=2(2w-5)

Area of a rectangle=length×width

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of rectangle is 4w - 10 square units

We have to factor the expression

Area of rectangle = 4w - 10

common factor=2

Area of rectangle = 2(2w - 5)

Thus the given expression is factored

Area of a rectangle=length × width

Area of the rectangle=2×(2w-5)

Thus, it is safe to say

The length=2 or (2w-5)

The width=(2w-5) or 2

The base of a circular fence with radius 10 m is given by x = 10 cost, y = 10 sin t. the height of the fence at position (x, y)
antiseptic1488 [7]

The parametric equations for x and y describe a circle of radius 10 m, so the length of the base of the fence is the length of the circumference of a circle of radius 10 m. The formula for that circumference (C) is ...

... C = 2πr

... C = 2π·(10 m) = 20π m

The height as a function of angle (t) is found by substituting for x and y.

... h(t) = h(x(t), y(t)) = 4 + 0.01·((10cos(t))²-)10sin(t))²) = 4+cos(2t)

The average value of this over the range 0 ≤ t ≤ 2π is 4, since the cosine function has two full cycles in that range, and its average value over a cycle is zero.

Thus, the area of one side of the fence is that of a rectangle 20π m long and 4 m wide. That will be

... (20π m)·(4 m) = 80π m²

The amount of paint required to cover both sides of the fence is

... 2×(80π m²)×(1 L)/(10 m²) = 16π L ≈ 50.3 L

_____

You can work out the integral for area as a function of t. When you do, you will find it gives this same result.
