How does Langston Hughes use the speaker to represent the strength of black Americans on his "I , Too" poem?

English

Answer:

The speaker is resilient and convinced that he is also an American, even though everyone around him tries to stop him from being.

Explanation:

The "I, Too" speaker represents the resilience of black Americans to remain convinced of their citizenship and rights within American society. In this way, the poet uses a speaker who refuses to succumb to the commands of the dominant members of society, who want at any cost to prevent him from being an active and important member of society. The speaker claims, that even though these people put him down, limit him, hide him and sadden him, he also represents America, being as important as any other member. In this case, the poet shows how the black population in America was limited and fought, but remained resilient and aware of their value and importance, as they were also Americans.

kupik [55]

Answer:

See explanation below

Explanation:

Leave the Voting Age Alone is an article written in 2012 by Jenny Diamond Cheng.

In this article the author counterargues the idea of lowering the voting age in order to increase teenagers' participation in the political process.

She counterargues that the voting age is the least of their problems and says that the interest in improving teenagers' participation would be better focused on fighting barriers like residency requirements that exclude college students and voter ID laws that do not favor young and mobile voters.
