Well, one big benefit would more than likely be that if you have a strike and you go on for a long time and stop working your boss is going to give you what you want. They may not give you everything but they will more than likely give you most of your demands. But one big danger would be facing the fact of being fired. If you don't work and you go on strike you could be facing the fact of being fired.
