What worldview did most Europeans hold on to in the 16th century?
Julli [10]

By the 16th Century, most Europeans had a Geocentric worldview. The geocentric theory is an ancient theory that places the Earth at the center of the universe, and the stars, including the Sun, revolving around the Earth (geo: Earth, centrism: grouped or center).

Adherence to the geocentric model was largely due to several important observations. First of all, if the Earth was able to move, then one should be able to observe the displacement of the fixed stars due to the stellar parallax. In short, if the Earth moved, the shapes of the constellations would change considerably over the course of a year. Because the stars were really much further away from what the Greek astronomers postulated (making the movement extremely subtle), the stellar parallax was not detected until the 19th century.

Masteriza [31]

The consequences of the Black Death were numerous and varied. Countless workers died, ravaging families through failed means of survival and causing personal affliction; landowners who used laborers as tenant farmers were also impacted. It is estimated to have abolished 30 percent to 60 percent of the European population.

4vir4ik [10]

The correct answer is A.

Walter Rauschenbusch (1861-1918) was American theologian, professor and pastor in the Baptist church. He is known for his key role in the Social Gospel and 'Single Tax' movements.

The Social Gospel was a movement that applied Christian ethics to deal with social issues, mainly related to topics of social justice, such as income inequalities, labor issues, criminality, poverty, racial conflicts, slums, etc. In order to be sucessful, first is necessary to identify the problems and its causes, in this case the existence of bad living conditions and unnecessary deaths among the humblest sectors of the population.

Why did American settlers in Texas have conflict with the Mexican government during the 1830s?
Katyanochek1 [597]
The best answer here is A, a huge conflict between the Mexican government and American settlers was slavery.  Leading up to the Mexican American War
(1846-1848), the Mexican government started creating and enforcing more laws surrounding American settlers, as they were becoming very numerous.  Even after the war, slavery was still an issue for settlers in Texas (which became independent after the war) and this contributed to the civil war.  Hope this helps!
