Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

slope intercept form  =>   Y = mx + b

find m... the slope by using any two points on the line

p1 = (0,5)  by inspection

p2=(4,6)  by inspection

find m  = y2-y1 / x2-x1

      m   = 6 - 5 / 4 - 0

      m    =1 / 4

then use the slope intercept formula

y = 1/4x + 5      for your answer.  we know b = 5 b/c thats where the line crosses the y axis.

y = \frac{1}{4}x + 5    is the answer

Determine algebraically whether the function is even, odd, or neither even nor odd.
kobusy [5.1K]
The function is odd just substitute f(x) for f(-x) and replace all the x's with -x's then go back to the original problem and substitute f(x) for -f(x) and multiply the original problem by -1 and since f(-x) and -f(x) are equal, it is odd. if the original problem, f(x) and f(-x) were equal it would be even and if none of the three are equal it would be neither. the answer to this question is odd because f(-x) and -f(x) are equal.

viva [34]

Answer:

(a) 495, (b) 210

Step-by-step explanation:

Total number of persons = 12

number of openings = 8

number of women = 7

number of men = 12 - 7 = 5

(a) Number of ways to select the 8 persons

C_{8}^{12}\textrm{}\\\\= \frac{12!}{8!\times 4!}\\\\=495

(b) Three are men

So, 3 men and 5 women

The number of ways are

C_{3}^{5}\textrm{} \times C_{5}^{7}\textrm{}\\\\= \frac{5!}{3!\times 2!}\times \frac{7!}{5!\times 2!}\\\\=210

13. if edward wins 6 of his remaining games...that would make a total of 12 wins (since he already won 6 earlier)

3/4 as many winsa as edward....3/4(12) = 36/4 = 9...so he would have to win 9 to have 3/4's as much as edward...and howard has already won 4...so he needs (9 - 4) = 5....he needs 5 wins
