Rudiment basically means the basics of something or the foundation of something, something that is essential to learning something else.
For example, in math a rudiment would be learning addition or in reading a rudiment would be learning the alphabet or to write, these are things we would need in order to progress.
In Music the Rudiment or the basic things you need to know would be:
- The Music Notes (clefs,whole note,half note, quarter note, eighth note,etc)
- The Staff ( and the tones of each staff)
- Different types of Bar Lines
- Key Signatures (flat & sharp)
- Time Signatures (4/4, 2/4, and 3/4)
- Dynamics (piano, forte, etc)
When we say Miranda warning, this refers to the warning that the police gives to someone who is considered to be a criminal suspect to be under the police custody for interrogation. In this case, you might hear the Miranda warning when someone is subjected for this kind of interrogation. Hope this helps.
