 It is important for students to learn about the holocaust because it was such a horrific and inhumane event that occurred from 1941 to 1945 in Nazi Germany. It's part of history, and the reason students need to learn is so that it we make sure it does not repeat itself. Learning about the holocaust teaches students that no matter what year we are in, anything is possible, and stuff like this can happen again, but we have to make sure it does not. Students get to see how people's ancestors were treated, and what their living conditions were like back in the days. Kids that were their same exact age were in concentration camps, while now kids are in schools. It is to show how privileged they are to be in school, while those kids were out there suffering.
