1) Interphase- chromosomes are in the form of tangled chromatin material in the nuclear membrane

2)Prophase- nucleus has now disappeared and chromatin material disentangles so chromosomes can be easily seen

3) Metaphase- spindle fibers attach to chromosomes and chromosomes are lined up in the center of the cell (equator)

4) Anaphase- chromosomes move to poles of cells and spindle fibers shorten

5) Telophase- chromosomes finally reach opposite ends of the cells, daughter cells are formed, nuclear membrane forms in each cell

In relation to protein production and packaging in a eukaryotic cell, which step occurs first???

The answer would be b. in the nucleus DNA instructions are copied as RNA messages. This is called translation. The RNA then takes that information to the ribosome where it is transcribed into amino acids, which will form a polypeptide chain and create a protein! Hope this helped :)

The germ cell has 2 sets of chromosomes, and the four gametes will each have one set of chromosomes. To have enough DNA
ICE Princess25 [194]

Answer:

This question lacks options, the options are:

A. Halved

B. Doubled (x2)

C. Quadrupled (x4)

D. Octupled (x8)

The answer is B.

Explanation:

Via the process of meiosis, gametes are formed in order for sexual reproduction to occur. However, the chromosomal content of the gametes are reduced by half. According to this question, a germ cell is said to have 2 sets of chromosomes i.e. diploid, meaning that each daughter cell after meiosis will have one set of chromosome (haploid, n).

However, before any form of division can occur, the DNA (genetic material) of the cell must be replicated i.e. doubled in order to ensure that each resulting gamete has enough chromosomes. This is applicable in this question as well as the DNA in the germ cell must be DOUBLED (×2) via replication in order to have enough DNA for each gamete.
