Thepotemich [5.8K]

Rabindranath Tagore works with symbolism through out the entirety of his poem, "We Both Live in the Same Village". He describes that feelings that a common villager has for Ranjana, by symbolizing them with depictions of the natural world.

For example, when "The yellow birds sing on their tree", the villager experiences happiness. When he writes that "her pair of pet lambs come to graze near the shade of our garden", he is describing how much pride and joy the villager has to be connected in some way to Ranjana.

Tagore also uses the symbolism to explain how these two people inhabit the same city, and how that proximity fuels the love of the villager for the girl. "The stars that smile on their cottage send us the same twinkling look." This exemplifies how both individuals are proximate to each other, the stars are looking at them at the same time because they live in the same village.

Who was the Welsh cleric who lived from ca. 1100 to 1155 and wrote "The Prophecies of Merlin", the poetic "Life of Merlin", and
iris [78.8K]

Answer:

His name was Geoffrey of Monmouth.

Explanation:

Geoffrey of Monmouth was a cleric born between 1095 and 1100 who is famous to this day for his influence over the Arthurian myths. Much of his life cannot be accounted for since information is scarce. We do not know precisely where he was born; some sources say he was Welsh, others say he was British. The exact year when he was born is also controversial.

Geoffrey was the author of the "History of the Kings of Britain", or Historia Regum Britanniae, which was translated into several languages. Nowadays, this work is considered unreliable. But Geoffrey's earliest work was probably the Prophecies of Merlin which, as its name reveals, contains a number of prophecies attributed to the wizard Merlin. Some say the character Merlin was created by Geoffrey himself, but Geoffrey claimed to have based him in older Brittonic traditions.

Contrast Nel’s relationship to her mother and Sula’s interaction with her mother. Remember to take a position in your thesis tha
kumpel [21]

The main difference between Nel’s relationship with her mother and Sula’s interaction with her mother is that Helene( Nel's mother) raises her with fear and controls her while Sula grows up without a motherly figure,

What happened in the book?

This refers to the family background of both Nel and Sula and how they lack a proper motherly influence and how they both grew up.

Hence, we can see that Nel's great-grandmother was a prostitute and because of this, Nel's mother (Helene) tries to hide her background and raises her with fear, and tries to control her life.

Furthermore, Sula and Nel become friends from childhood up until adulthood and it grows and blossoms as they are both complementary to each other in a sisterly fashion.

What type of word relationship does this analogy show
sammy [17]

Answer:

antonym

Explanation:

These words are all opposite one another. Antonyms are the words that oppose each other and have completely contrasting meanings to one another. Therefore, these words are antonyms.

Dissolve means for something to break up, and usually to become liquid. Solidify is the word that marks the process of something getting into the solid-state or hardening. These words therefore show the two completely opposing processes.

Noise is the loud or unpleasant sound, an unwanted one. Silence is the complete absence of any sound. Again, we see that these words describe the two contrasting states of sound.
