Answer & Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming that there is a constant rate of change, we can use the equation:

y=kx

k is the constant rate of change. Set up an equation in which the pounds are determined by the rate of change between kilograms and pounds:

1=k(2.2)

Isolate the variable k:

\frac{1}{2.2}=\frac{k(2.2)}{2.2}\\\\\frac{1}{2.2}=k

Set up another equation like so:

\frac{y}{x}=\frac{y}{x}

Insert values:

\frac{1}{2.2}=\frac{y}{112}

Solve for y. Cross multiply:

1(112)=2.2y\\\\112=2.2y

Isolate the variable. Divide both sides by 2.2:

\frac{112}{2.2}=\frac{2.2y}{2.2} \\\\ y=50.9090...

So, there are about 50.9 kilograms in 112 pounds.

Which of the following is the solution set to the inequality −25x+14>20? Select one: A. x < -64 B. x > -64 C. x < -1
Sindrei [870]

Answer:

x< -0.24

Step-by-step explanation:

So this is going to sound stupid, but I got x< -0.24 which is just not an option, but this is how I got it...

-25x+14>20

subtract 14 from each side

-25x>6

divide each side by -25

x< -0.24

I switch the way the sign was facing bc I divided by a negative.

Now I know that this must be wrong, but it makes the most sense because I am pretty sure I did all of the math right. Sorry this probably didnt help , but I did a lot of work to try and get the right answer, so Im not putting that work to waste

A bull had horns that measured 98 inches across. what is this length in feet and inches?
zhenek [66]
HI Spowell1171! Here's how you do this:

12 in = 1 ft

98 ÷ 12 = 8 R 2

So, now you have 8 R2. This means you have 8 feet and 2 inches. So your answer is 8 feet and 2 inches. Hope I helped!

What are the zeros of the function represents by the quadratic expression 2x^2+x-3?
larisa [96]

Answer:

\large\boxed{x=-1.5\ or\ x=1}

Step-by-step explanation:

The zeros of f(x) = 2x² + x - 3:

2x^2+x-3=0\\2x^2+3x-2x-3=0\\x(2x+3)-1(2x+3)=0\\(2x+3)(x-1)=0\iff2x+3=0\ \vee\ x-1=0\\\\2x+3=0\qquad\text{subtract 3 from both sides}\\2x=-3\qquad\text{divide both sides by 2}\\x=-1.5\\\\x-1=0\qquad\text{add 1 to both sides}\\x=1
