The arm span and foot length were both measured (in centimeters) for each of 20 students in a biology class. The computer output

displays the regression analysis.
Which of the following is the best interpretation of the coefficient of determination r2?

About 37% of the variation in arm span is accounted for by the linear relationship formed with the foot length.
About 65% of the variation in foot length is accounted for by the linear relationship formed with the arm span.
About 63% of the variation in arm span is accounted for by the linear relationship formed with the foot length.

Answer:

The guy above me is completely wrong hahaha.

The correct answer should have a 63%.

It's probably D. The terminology is a little confusing.

The equation of the output looks like:

-7.611 + .186(x) = y

x --> Arm span

y --> Foot span

The linear relationship is formed with the armspan.

Consider the following region R and the vector field F. a. Compute the two-dimensional curl of the vector field. b. Evaluate bo
Shalnov [3]

Looks like we're given

\vec F(x,y)=\langle-x,-y\rangle

which in three dimensions could be expressed as

\vec F(x,y)=\langle-x,-y,0\rangle

and this has curl

\mathrm{curl}\vec F=\langle0_y-(-y)_z,-(0_x-(-x)_z),(-y)_x-(-x)_y\rangle=\langle0,0,0\rangle

which confirms the two-dimensional curl is 0.

It also looks like the region R is the disk x^2+y^2\le5. Green's theorem says the integral of \vec F along the boundary of R is equal to the integral of the two-dimensional curl of \vec F over the interior of R:

\displaystyle\int_{\partial R}\vec F\cdot\mathrm d\vec r=\iint_R\mathrm{curl}\vec F\,\mathrm dA

which we know to be 0, since the curl itself is 0. To verify this, we can parameterize the boundary of R by

\vec r(t)=\langle\sqrt5\cos t,\sqrt5\sin t\rangle\implies\vec r'(t)=\langle-\sqrt5\sin t,\sqrt5\cos t\rangle

\implies\mathrm d\vec r=\vec r'(t)\,\mathrm dt=\sqrt5\langle-\sin t,\cos t\rangle\,\mathrm dt

with 0\le t\le2\pi. Then

\displaystyle\int_{\partial R}\vec F\cdot\mathrm d\vec r=\int_0^{2\pi}\langle-\sqrt5\cos t,-\sqrt5\sin t\rangle\cdot\langle-\sqrt5\sin t,\sqrt5\cos t\rangle\,\mathrm dt

=\displaystyle5\int_0^{2\pi}(\sin t\cos t-\sin t\cos t)\,\mathrm dt=0

A plot of 1/no2 versus time is linear. using this information, identify the factor by which the rate will increase in model (c)
WITCHER [35]
This is hard in mathematical language, but there is only this way to present it. Let us denote by A the consentration of the substance and by A' its rate.
We have that b/A= t+c where c is a constant.
Hence A=b/(c+t)
By differentiating, we get that A'=-b/(C+t)^2
Then, we have that -(A)^2=A'/b
Hence at any point, we have that if we make the concentration 17 times, we have that there is a 17 times bigger , the rate will become bigger by 17*17, hence 289 times faster.

Given a polynomial f(x), if (x + 7) is a factor, what else must be true? f(0)=7 f(0)=-7 f(7)=0 f(-7)=0
Nataly [62]
F(-7)=0

Because that makes the (x+7) factor equal zero and any other factor multiplied by zero also results in zero.
