Many abolitionists spoke out against slavery citing its
cruelty and its effects on society. Many
former slaves like Frederick Douglas spoke of his experience as a slave and his
eloquent speeches made people realize that Blacks had the potential to do great
things. They also distributed pamphlets
and reading materials on the evils of slavery.
The most successful propaganda that they made was the book Uncle Tom’s
Cabin where it opened the eyes of the public about the cruelties of slavery.
She is Oedipus' daughter and can't help herself because of bitterness.
The 18th Amendment states that "...[it prohibits] <em>the manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors within, the importation thereof into, or the exportation thereof from the United States and all territory subject to teh jurisdiction thereof for beverage purposes...</em>" and that "<em>congress..... shall have concurrent power to enforce this article...</em>
One of the results of the 18th Amendment was the founding of <em>bootleggers</em>, which were people who smuggled liquor into the US through placing the liquor into boots, and selling to the public.
