Buddhism is a religion and Buddha is one of there ’gods’. The buddhists doesn’t believe in any gods but many people still pray to Buddha. The reason is that Siddharta (Buddha’s name before he was enligtened) came to understanding on his own when he was enlightened. He didn’t need any help from god. Therefore praying, sacrifices and believe in gods is pointless, this is also a teach in buddhism.
