A company currently has an advertisement that covers a bill board that is 30 ft wide by 70 ft high. The company wants to reduce
Sedbober [7]

Given :

A company currently has an advertisement that covers a bill board that is 30 ft wide by 70 ft high. The company wants to reduce the same advertisement to fit on a new billboard that is 25 ft wide by 40 ft high.

To Find :

The dimensions of the largest advertisement that will fix on the billboard without cropping the advertisement.

Solution :

Area of original bill board :

A_i=30\times 70 = 2100\ ft^2

Area of new bill board :

A_f=25\times 40 = 1000\ ft^2

Since, new bill board can be completely fitted in original bill board as its length and breadth both are smaller than that.

So, the dimensions of the largest advertisement that will fix on the billboard without cropping the advertisement is equal to 1000 ft².

Hence, this is the required solution.

Please help with this question please because I don’t know
UkoKoshka [18]

Answer:

B. 9.9 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

You have a right triangle, so you can use the Pythagorean theorem.

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

15^ + x^2 = 18^2

225 + x^2 = 324

x^2 = 99

x = sqrt(99)

x = 9.9

Answer: B. 9.9 ft

Inessa05 [86]

\text{Hello there!}\\\\\text{In this question, we're trying to find when both companies cost the same}\\\\\text{We know that landscaping company A charges \$50 fee plus \$18 an hour}\\\\\text{That would be represented as:}\,\,y=18x+50\\\\\text{We know that landscaping company B charges \$20 per hour and a \$30 fee}\\\\\text{That would be represented as:}\,\,y=20x+30\\\\\text{We would get both equations, put them together, and solve}\\\\18x+50=20x+30\\\\\text{Solve:}\\\\18x+50=20x+30\\

\text{Subtract both sides by -20x}\\\\-2x+50=+30\\\\\text{Subtract both sides by 50}\\\\-2x=-20\\\\\text{Divide by -2}\\\\\large\boxed{x=10}\\\\\text{They're the same price at 10 hours}\\\\\text{I hope this helps!}\\\text{Best regards,}\\\text{MasterInvestor}

Find the first 5 terms of the sequence <br> A(n)=n+A(n-1) a1 = 3
faust18 [17]

Answer:

A(1) = 3, A(2) = 5, A(3) = 8, A(4) = 12, A(5) = 17

Step-by-step explanation:

Given A(n) = n + A(n–1) a1 = 3.

A(1) = 3.

A(2) = (2) + A(2–1)

= (2) + A(1)

= (2) + (3) = <u>5</u>

A(3) = (3) + A(3-1)

= (3) + A(2)

= (3) + (5) = <u>8</u>

A(4) = (4) + A(4–1)

= (4) + A(3)

= (4) + (8) = <u>12</u>

A(5) = (5) + A(5–1)

= (5) + A(4)

= (5) + (12) = <u>17</u>
