Why are there no carriers with dominant pedigrees?
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]
You can't have a carrier with a dominant pedigree because other wise than individual or organism would be afflicted by the gene and render them incapable of being a carrier. A carrier is an individual/organism that has a normal phenotype (meaning it is not afflicted by said gene) but is carrying the gene that could cause disease or whatever the affect may be. In this case the gene would have to be homozygous recessive to be expressed. Hopefully this helps!

Match the human activity and how it increases the greenhouse affect
laiz [17]

Answer:

1. primary cause of human-created carbon emissions = burning fossil fuels

2. destroys natural carbon sinks leading to more carbon dioxide in the air = deforestation

3. emits methane from decomposing matter = waste disposal in landfills

Explanation:

1. "Fossil fuels" are <em>nonrenewable resources</em> that are considered essential for the operation of many factories and industries. <em>Burning them accounts for most of the carbon emissions on Earth</em>, and this leads to<em> "global warming."</em>

2. "Forests" are considered "carbon sinks" because they have a role of <u><em>absorbing the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere</em></u>. Cutting down the trees (deforestation) makes forests barren. It then leads to more carbon dioxide in the air.

3.<em> Waste disposals in landfills contribute to the amount of methane that is released into the atmosphere.</em> Methane is considered a <em><u>potent greenhouse gas</u></em> that affects people's health.

3 key factors of Charles Darwin's Theory of natural selection
cricket20 [7]
Natural selection is the differential survival and reproduction of individuals due to differences in phenotype. It is a key mechanism of evolution, the change in heritable traits of a population over time. The term "natural selection" was popularised by Charles Darwin who compared it with artificial selection, now more commonly referred to as selective breeding.
