The diagrams shows a 3cm x 5cm x 4cm cuboid.
Vera_Pavlovna [14]

Answer:

a) 5.83 cm

b) 34.45°

Step-by-step explanation:

a) From Pythagoras theorem of right triangles, given right triangle ABC:

AB² + BC² = AC²

Therefore:

AC² = 5² + 3²

AC² = 25 + 9 = 34

AC = √34

AC = 5.83 cm

b) From triangle ACD, AC = 5.83 cm, AD = 4 cm and ∠A = 90°.

From Pythagoras theorem of right triangles, given right triangle ACD:

AD² + AC² = DC²

Therefore:

DC² = 5.83² + 4²

DC² = 34 + 16 = 50

DC = √50

DC = 7.07 cm

Let ∠ACD be x. Therefore using sine rule:

\frac{4}{sin(x)}=\frac{7.07}{sin(90)} \\ sin(x)=\frac{4*sin(90))}{7.07}=0.5657\\ x=sin^{-1}(0.5657)\\x=34.45^o

F(x) = -x^2-3x<br> find f (10)

Rearrange:

Rearrange the equation by subtracting what is to the right of the equal sign from both sides of the equation :

Theory - Roots of a product

3.1    A product of several terms equals zero.

When a product of two or more terms equals zero, then at least one of the terms must be zero.

We shall now solve each term = 0 separately

In other words, we are going to solve as many equations as there are terms in the product

Any solution of term = 0 solves product = 0 as well.

Solving a Single Variable Equation:

3.2      Solve  :    x = 0

 Solution is  x = 0

Equation of a Straight Line

3.3     Solve   f+x+3  = 0

Tiger recognizes that we have here an equation of a straight line. Such an equation is usually written y=mx+b ("y=mx+c" in the UK).

"y=mx+b" is the formula of a straight line drawn on Cartesian coordinate system in which "y" is the vertical axis and "x" the horizontal axis.

In this formula :

y tells us how far up the line goes

x tells us how far along

m is the Slope or Gradient i.e. how steep the line is

b is the Y-intercept i.e. where the line crosses the Y axis

The X and Y intercepts and the Slope are called the line properties. We shall now graph the line  f+x+3  = 0 and calculate its properties

Graph of a Straight Line :

Calculate the Y-Intercept :

Notice that when x = 0 the value of f is -3/1 so this line "cuts" the f axis at f=-3.00000

 f-intercept = -3/1  = -3.00000

Calculate the X-Intercept :

When f = 0 the value of x is -3/1 Our line therefore "cuts" the x axis at x=-3.00000

 x-intercept = -3/1  = -3.00000

Calculate the Slope :

Slope is defined as the change in f divided by the change in x. We note that for x=0, the value of f is -3.000 and for x=2.000, the value of f is -5.000. So, for a change of 2.000 in x (The change in x is sometimes referred to as "RUN") we get a change of -5.000 - (-3.000) = -2.000 in f. (The change in f is sometimes referred to as "RISE" and the Slope is m = RISE / RUN)

   Slope     = -2.000/2.000 = -1.000

Geometric figure: Straight Line

 Slope = -2.000/2.000 = -1.000

 x-intercept = -3/1 = -3.00000

 f-intercept = -3/1 = -3.00000

x = 0

∠1  and ∠2 are supplementary.
Rasek [7]
By definition, supplementary angles are those whose sum is 180°

Therefore, ∠2 = 180 - ∠1
2x + 4 = 180 - 124
2x = 52
x = 26°

Mathematics what is the distance between A (-6 -3) and b (-14 -18)
eduard

Answer:

The answer is

<h2>17 units</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

The distance between two points can be found by using the formula

d =  \sqrt{ ({x_1 - x_2})^{2} +  ({y_1 - y_2})^{2}  } \\

where

(x1 , y1) and (x2 , y2) are the points

From the question the points are

A (-6 -3) and b (-14 -18)

The distance between them is

|AB|  =  \sqrt{ ({ - 6 + 14})^{2}  +  ({ - 3 + 18})^{2} }  \\  =  \sqrt{ {8}^{2}  +  {15}^{2} }  \\  =  \sqrt{64 + 225}  \\  =  \sqrt{289}  \\  = 17 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:

We have the final answer as

<h3>17 units</h3>

Hope this helps you
