Answer:

Schools play an important role in students’ educational achievement, health, and well being. Working with local health officials and with parents and caregivers, schools also have an important role in slowing the spread of SARS--2 (the virus that causes -) while protecting students, teachers, and staff and helping ensure students have safe and healthy learning environments.

choosing whether or not to send your child back to school can be difficult. When weighing decisions about your child returning to school, it is important to consider your family’s unique needs and situation and your comfort level with the steps your school is taking to reduce the spread of-19. Some considerations may include the specific risks to members of your household if a child were to become infected in school, as well as access to school meal programs, social services, extended day childcare services and extra-curricular activities, social-emotional support from peers and educators, and school transportation.

The questions in these tools are designed to help you weigh the risks and benefits of available educational options before you make decisions. Recognizing that there may be many unknowns, answer each question with a check in the column that most closely reflects you and your family today. When you are finished, review your answers. Remember, each family is different so certain questions may be particularly important to you. Multiple checks in the “Unsure” or “Disagree” columns might warrant a conversation with school administrators, your healthcare provider, or your employer. Parents may also want to use the tool to make their views, concerns, and suggestions known to school administrators.

As schools begin to reopen across the nation, parents, guardians, and caregivers will be making decisions based on numerous factors, such as individual preferences, health concerns, work situations, and school considerations. When making decisions about school for your family, there are many things to think about beyond academics, such as access to school meal programs, social services, extended day childcare, extra-curricular activities, social-emotional support from peers and educators, and transportation. Parents, guardians, and caregivers will be thinking about numerous factors, such as individual preferences, health concerns, work situations, and school considerations.

Many schools are offering parents and guardians a choice between in-person and virtual modes of instruction. CDC’s Decision-Making Tool for Parents and Guardians is designed to help you think through school re-entry and the choices that your child’s school is offering.

Why does hester feel that arthur dimmsdale should speak on her behalf?
stira [4]

In chapter 8 ofThe Scarlet Letterwe find Hester entering the governor's mansion because she has heard that the magistrates are thinking about removing Pearl from her custody, given that the child's illegitimate status renders her as a "demon child", or an "elfin", according to Puritan law.

As the magistrates speak to Hester, she begins to lose her temper and, after yelling out that she will not give up her daughter, she feels the sudden impulse to call on Rev. Dimmesdale to speak to the magistrates.

The reasons are many. If we go literally by what Hester says, then she wanted Dimmesdale to use his power as her pastor, and as the person whom she has trusted the secrets of her soul to convince the magistrates that she is not a bad woman, and that Pearl will not be led astray only because she is illegitimate; that Hester's scarlet letter has actually taught the woman much, especially about the care and love that she should place on Pearl.

Yet, if we read between the lines, we know that this impulse of getting Dimmesdale into the issue could have been motivated by other things. First, Hester was at a boiling point and perhaps, instinctively, she sought the help of none other than the father of her child, as the man of what would have been her family, to take charge of the situation and to help her.

Second, Hester may have subconsciously been so frustrated and "fed up" with the whole situation (and who wouldn't be) that she for once, and only for once, made Dimmesdale share the responsibility for some of it; after all, he fathered the child with Hester, even if it is all in secret. She was correct in including Dimmesdale into the situation, because the magistrates always listen to him, and because Dimmesdale has an undeserved charm over the community that he leads as a pastor.

Therefore, the combination of instinct, anger, and desperation is what mainly motivates Hester to call Arthur Dimmesdale to speak on her behalf.

Select the correct answer.
katrin2010 [14]

Answer:

C) In Ed’s latest story, “Evil Intentions,” darkness and nightfall symbolize death.

Explanation:

Contextual Symbols:

If the meaning of the symbol changes from culture to culture or from time to time, from text to text or from context to context they are referred to as contextual symbols. One example of contextual symbol is symbol of owl. Owl is a symbol of wisdom in the western countries while it is totally opposite in the Indian sub-continent - there, owl is symbol of foolishness. However, we can also say that owl is universal symbol of wisdom in the western countries (by qualifying the argument).

Universal Symbols:

If the meaning of symbolism remains the same in all cultures, locations, texts, it is called a universal symbol. For example pen and book are universal symbols of education. And, dove is a symbol of peace.

Darkness and nightfall in option D are universal symbols of death, sadness, fall.

Symbols used in option A, B, and D are contextual as their meaning vary from text to text and from culture to culture.
