The OPEC oil embargo was an incident during which the 12 OPEC countries stopped exporting oil to the United States. The embargo sent the price of gas through the roof. Prices more than quadrupled from 1973-1974.
Explanation:
- OPEC was founded by Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Kuwait in 1960 with the main objective of raising oil prices. OPEC had little effect on oil prices but a rise in demand and a fall in U.S. oil production.
- Extracting oil and natural gas has decreased the quantity of the oil that the U.S. has to import, and added employment, investment, and development to the economy.
- The embargo played a role in stagflation. Oil discovery and refining is again a significant US industry.
One distinction of the american infantry during the revolutionary war era was its use of Volley Fire.
Volley Fire is a military tactice developed with the advent of rifles and guns in the 16-17th Century.
In this tactic, a line of riflemen fire together and while they reload their weapons, another line of soldiers fire their weapons.
This is done to ensure constant firing, to make up for lost time in reloading and make up for missed shots.
The aim is to consistently be on the offensive.
It is most closely associated with the Dutch forces but was used by American forces against the British.
Hi there!
The passage of the Black Codes in many southern states enraged both northerners and African Americans across the country. In response, Congress passed the Civil Rights Act over president Andrew Johnson's veto as well as the Reconstruction Act of 1867. These acts effectively outlawed discrimination on basis of race and granted equal rights to all under the Constitution. They also guaranteed that a citizen's right to vote could not be denied "on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude." All of these actions effectively invalidated the Black Codes. However, the road to reconstruction was still a long and rocky one.
The right answer for the question that is being asked and shown above is that: "to describe why city and state government officials made certain decisions." the statement that best describes Steffens' purpose in writing about government is that to describe why city and state government officials made certain decisions
