Manifest Destiny played a role in the removal of the Cherokee because people believed it was the United States God given right to expand. This meant the Cherokee needed to leave in order for them to expand their borders westward.

W.E.B DuBois believed in the promotion of black culture and that blacks should be given rights on the merit of their worth. He created the NAACP and encouraged blacks to become educated in the professions. He wanted true equality of the races not just segregated equality within society.
