First, you find out how much can be filled in 1 minute. Then you divide that into 120 to get your answer.

To find out how much can be filled in 1 minute, take the time and divide it into the volume. We'll use the second row (2 minutes and 8 gallons.)

8/2=4. So it takes 1 minute to fill 4 gallons. Now, you just divide 4 into 120.

120/4=30

It takes 30 minutes to fill the pool up to 120 gallons.

  • Definition of a Line: A line is 180°

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1: Set up Equation</u>

m∠BDC + m∠CDA = 180°

(-7x + 12)° + (-8x + 48)° = 180°

<u>Step 2: Solve for </u><em><u>x</u></em>

  1. Combine like terms:                    -15x + 60 = 180
  2. Isolate <em>x</em> term:                              -15x = 120
  3. Isolate <em>x</em>:                                       x = -8

<u>Step 3: Find m∠BDC</u>

  1. Define:                    m∠BDC = (-7x + 12)°
  2. Substitute in <em>x</em>:       m∠BDC = (-7(-8) + 12)°
  3. Multiply:                  m∠BDC = (56 + 12)°
  4. Add:                        m∠BDC = 68°

erastova [34]

Answer:

<em>(1/6)(-10x - 4) = -4 </em>

Step-by-step explanation:

(1/6)(-3x - 24) = -4

=> -3x - 24 = -4 x 6

=> -3x - 24 = -24

=> -3x = 24 - 24

=> -3x = 0

=> x = 0 (not 2) => Incorrect option

(1/6)(-5x - 8) = -4

=> -5x - 8 = -4 x 6

=> -5x - 8 = -24

=> -5x = 8 - 24

=> -5x = -16

=> x = 16/5 (not 2) => Incorrect option

(1/6)(-10x - 4) = -4

=> -10x - 4 = -4 x 6

=> -10x - 4 = -24

=> -10x = 4 - 24

=> -10x = -20

=> x = 2 => Correct option

(1/6)(-12x - 16) = -4

=> -12x - 16 = -4 x 6

=> -12x - 16 = -24

=> -12x = 16 - 24

=> -12x = 8

=> x = -3/4 (not 2) => Incorrect option

=> Option C is correct

Hope this helps!
