Answer:

im almost positive that you can leave it just like that because they aren't like terms so there's nothing to simplify but I put it into Symbolab and told it to simplify 15x + 5 and it gave me 5\left(3x+1\right) then put 5\left(3x+1\right)\\ back into the calculator and it gave me 15x + 5 so I think that it's perfect the way you had it :) hope this helps

Two numbers have a sum of 1212 and a difference of 518 what are are the two numbers
lapo4ka [179]
This question involves systems of equations. You can use matrices on a graphing calculator or solve by elimination. Set this up as x+y=1212 and x-y=518. If you solve on a graphing calculator, click 2nd matrix then edit. Change the matrix to a two by three and input on the first line horizontally 1, 1, 1212 and on the second line 1, -1, 518. Then hit the quit button and go to the home screen. Click 2nd matrix again and hit rref and quit again and click on the name of the matrix. If you solve by elimination multiply the first one by -1 so your ys can cancel and then find x and plug in. So your two numbers are 865 and 347.

-Trust me, learn how to do these on your calculator, it will minus the tricky solving of systems.

Dana buys a plot of land that is 30 yards by 50 yards to build a new house. Dana’s blueprint for the new house shows that the ho
maks197457 [2]

Answer:

Solution: Convert the lot dimensions to feet

35 yards ×3 feet1 yard=105 feet

50 yards ×3 feet1 yard=150 feet

So the area of the entire lot is 105 feet×150 feet=15,750 square feet.

Therefore the percent of the lot NOT covered by Dana's house will be

15,750−160015,750≈0.898≈90%.

Solution: Convert the house area to square yards

Step-by-step explanation:

1 yard=3 feet,

so

1 square yard=3 feet×3 feet=9 square feet.

Therefore, Dana's house covers

1600 square feet×1 square yard9 square feet≈177.8 square yards.

On the other hand, Dana's lot is 35 yards×50 yards=1,750 yards.

The percentage of Dana's lot NOT covered by her house is:

1,750−177.81,750≈0.898≈90%

Nine of 15 students completed their homework. What is the ratio of students who completed their homework to students who did not
Talja [164]

Answer:

The ratio of student that completed their homework to the students who didn't complete their homework is 9:6  = 9 /6

Step-by-step explanation:

9 of 15 students completed their homework .The ratio of students who completed their homework to the ratio that didn't complete their's can be calculated below

The total number of student that was given the homework is 15 . Out of this 15 students only 9 of the students completed their homework. The remaining student out of the 15 didn't complete their's.

The remaining number of student that didn't complete their homework is 15 - 9 = 6 .

Therefore,

The ratio of student that completed their homework to the students who didn't complete their homework is 9:6  = 9 /6

The ratio can be further reduced to 3/2
