Answer:

In the beginning of the story, the bazaar, a foreign and magical place, symbolizes the narrator’s wish to escape his dull and monotonous life. But when the narrator reaches the bazaar, he sees that it is seedy and commercial. Although he notes that the bazaar is as silent "as a church after a service," he sees men counting money and hears "the fall of the coins." Its crass commercialism leads him to see his former aspirations as vain illusions.

In the start of the story the bazaar was used to show his need for a more entertaining life. It showed that he wanted to escape his monotone life and feel something more alive and energetic. Alas, when he finally reaches his area he sees it is simply commercial, it isn’t truley what he wanted. It shows him that he dreams and yearns for something but that something s8nt really exciting or notable.

Do you think the mood of the speaker in Thomas Hardy's "The Darkling Thrush" changes because of the thrush's song? Explain?
KATRIN_1 [288]
I believe that the thrush's song changed the mood because it was a song filled with hope from the divine that inspired him. Darkling Thrush refers to a bird who is weak and fragile, however, even with these qualities, he sacrificed himself.
