What makes the American Revolution unique, according to Paine?

Thomas Paine (wrote the pamphlet Common Sense), was an educator and played an important role in the American Revolution. What he said makes the Revolution unique is that the 13 colonies (when under British rule) was rebelling against their own government. I know this kinda contradicts what I just said, but trust me, it’s right.

By making the civil war only about the preservation of slavery against abolitionists. Though this was one reason, It was originally started because they felt that the federal government was being unfair and unjust towards them in the way that they taxed them.
