How does our perspective influence how we perceive different epochs, eras, turning points and "big history"?
Vikentia [17]

Answer:

Everyone has their own perspective on historical events, epochs, and eras depending on their place in the world, their values and beliefs,  and their experiences. This is why people need to consider other people's ideas as well. Looking at things with only your own point of view can taint and prevent you from understanding historical events, epochs, eras, and even turning points. It is the job of leaders, civilians, soldiers, and law enforcement alike to be able to look back at historical events, era, and epochs, open-mindedly, instead of allowing only their perspective to cloud their interpretation. Which likely had the greatest influence on Whittier's opinions about slavery?
Slav-nsk [51]

Answer: influence from Garrison

Explanation:

John Greenleaf Whittier was an abolitionist who was one of the founding members of the American Anti-Slavery Society. Amongst many things he did for the cause, he published a pamphlet titled Justice and Expediency in which he called for an immediate end to slavery and was an outspoken lobbyist for the abolitionist cause.

His opinions on slavery were most probably influenced by Lloyd Garrison who had encouraged Whittier to get a formal education. Garrison was abolitionist and as he and Wittier became close, convinced him to become one as well.
