Answer:

Settlers in the Southern colonies came to America to seek economic prosperity they could not find in Old England. The English countryside provided a grand existence of stately manors and high living. But rural England was full, and by law those great estates could only be passed on to the eldest son.

Lelechka [254]

Answer:

The federal System was chosen as the form of government for the U.S. to allow national governments and state governments to balance and share the powers. This would prevent the central government from having too much power.

Expressed powers: Powers that are directly written in the constitution.

Implied powers: Powers that are not listed in the constitution, but they can be assumed.

Reserved powers: Powers that are given to the states.

In the McCulloch v. Maryland case looks at whether or not congress has the power from the constitution to incorporate a bank. This power is not  specifically listed in the constitution. The Supreme court rules and responds by saying how much power each government, state and national, have.

The Supremacy Clause: This clause states that the federal law and constitution have more power than states laws and constitutions.
