GenaCL600 [577]

The human digestion starts in the small intestine gets the most of the nutrients in your food, and your circulatory system passes them on to other parts of your body to store or use.  When food enters the small intestine, villi along the intestine wall along with enzymes help break down the food, and takes a long journey. The stomach is right above the small intestine, and the small intestine is all wrapped around, and isn't that thick. Nutrients from the food are released to the whole body as energy. The small intestine brings the food to the large intestine, which is five feet long and is near your pelvis, or hips. The large intestine connects to the rectum, and then to the anus. In the large intestine, all the water is absorbed as well as salt.

What type of joint connects skull to spine?
rodikova [14]
The Atlas. This is the topmost vertebra, and with the axis, it forms a joint that connects the skull to the spine. These two parts of the body (The Atlas and The Axis) are special, and different from normal vertebra, because they are made to allow a greater range of motion and movement in the head. I hope this helps! Also, google is always a helpful tool to use as well. :)

Advantages of constant body temperaure
Leya [2.2K]
Proteins function optimally at a specific temperature. So if you get too hot or too cold, biochemical reactions in your body start to function less well. If the situation becomes extreme enough, they can cease to function well enough to sustain life.

Warm-blooded animals have an advantage over cold-blooded ones in that their bodies automatically try to maintain the optimal termperature for things in their bodies to function. Cold-blooded animals depend on the environmental temperature to do this for them. That's why reptiles are very sluggish when they're cold, but will "wake up" when they get warm.

The cost to this benefit is that metabolically, warm-blooded animals require a lot more fuel to run their bodies. It's very energy-intensive to maintain a constant body temperature. Cold-blooded animals require far less fuel than warm-blooded ones relative to their size.

The way that proteins operate in a specific temperature is also true of the pH in your body which is also very tightly maintained.

Black_prince [1.1K]

Answer:

1) IRIS

2) LENS

3) RETINA

4) Fovea Centralis

Note: Answers 1 - 4 follows question pattern

Explanation:

The PUPIL is the hole in the MIDDLE of the IRIS of the eye, through which light passes to be focused on the RETINA.

The IRIS is the contractile membrane perforated by the pupil, which adjusts to control the amount of light reaching the retina, and which forms the colored portion of the eye

ACCOMMODATION is the change in the adjustment of the eye lens to help focus light ray.

RETINA helps to receive light rays that the lens has focused. It contains two cells: rods and cones

Fovea Centralis is at the center of the retina responsible for sharp and accurate vision, also it is where cones cells cluster.
