Answer and Step-by-step explanation:

(a)

Given that a multiple choice test consist of 100 questions such that there are 5 answers per question i.e., any of the 5 answers can be selected i.e., there are 5 ways of selecting an answer

Total no. of ways of completing the test =5^{100}  ways

(b)

In order to complete the test in a way that 2 consecutive answers should never be the same, question can be answered such that  only one of the 5 option is selected.

Therefore, answer to the first question can be given in 5 ways

to the next in 4 ways and for all other only 4 ways are there to answer the question for 10 equations.

So,

Total no. of ways to answer the given question =

5\times 4\times 4\times 4\times 4\times 4\times 4\times 4\times 4\times 4 = 1310720 ways

zavuch27 [327]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  185°

Step-by-step explanation:

The triangle internal angle at Y is 145° -45° = 100°. Since the triangle is isosceles, the internal angles at X and Z are both (180° -100°)/2 = 40°. Then the bearing of Z from X is the bearing of Y from X less the internal angle at X:

  (45° +180°) -40° = 185°.

Z from X is 185°.

64,-48,36,-27 which formula can be used to describe the sequence
ryzh [129]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

These are the terms of a geometric sequence with n th term formula

a_{n} = a (r)^{n-1}

where a is the first term and r the common ratio

r = \frac{-48}{64} = \frac{36}{-48} = - \frac{3}{4}

the first term a = 64, hence

a_{n} = 64 (-3/4)^{n-1}

A rectangular prism has a base that is 5 cm by 7 cm and a height of 12 cm. If all dimensions are doubled, what happens to the vo
Delvig [45]

Answer:

volume becomes 8 times of original rectangular prism

Step-by-step explanation:

Given dimension of prism : 5 cm by 7 cm and a height of 12 cm

volume of prism is given by = length * width * height

thus volume of given prism = 5*7* 12 cubic cm = 420 cubic units.

___________________________________

next given that all the dimensions are double

the new dimension are

width = 5*2 cm = 10 cm

length = 7*2 cm = 14 cm

height = 12*2 cm = 24 cm

Volume of new prism = 10*14*24 cubic cm = 3,360 cubic units.

3,360 = 8*420 (420 is volume of original cube)

Thus , volume becomes 8 times of old rectangular prism.

_____________________________________

it can be solved even if we do not have any dimension.

if x,y ,z care dimension of rectangular prism

then its volume = x*y*z cubic  units

now if dimension are doubled then new dimensions are

2x,2y,2z

thus,

new volume = 2x*2y*2z cubic  units = 8xyz cubic units

Thus , we see volume is 8 times of original cube.
