So in order to count notes you would start with 1 2 3 4 as quarter notes. 1 + 2+ 3+ 4+ is eighth notes. 1 e a 2 e a 3 e a 4 e a as triplets. And lastly 1e+a 2e+a 3e+a 4e+a for 16th notes.

If it’s the right hand spaces are FACE (f, a, c, e) from bottom to the top. The line notes are every good boy deserves fudge (e, g, b, d, f,) from bottom to top
