Answer: $27,602.60

Step-by-step explanation:

if the kid is 5 years old, there are 13 years left until he is 18.

Now, suppose that the parents set aside an amount A of money in the account.

As the interest is compounded semiannually is compounded two times per year.

The equation that models this situation is:

M(n) = A*(1 + p/(c*100%))^(c*n)

where:

n is our variable, in this case, years.

p is the percentage, in this case, 6%

n is the number of compounds in one unit of the variable, in this case, we have 2.

A is the initial amount, this is the thing we want to find.

Then our equation will be:

M(n) = A*(1 + 6%/(2*%100))^(2*n)

       = A*(1 + 0.03)^(2*n) = A*(1.03)^(2n)

And we want that this is equal to $80,000 when n = 13 (remember that when n = 13, the child will be 18 years old)

M(13) = A*(1.03)^(2*18) = $80,000

           A = $80,000/((1.03)^(2*18)) = $27,602.60

Then they should deposit $27,602.60 now to meet their financial goal when the child is 18.

An expression that is equivalent to 20x^4
Veronika [31]

An expression that is equivalent to 20x^4 is 5x^{2} × 4x^{2} or 10x^{1} ×2x^{3}

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

We can write the equivalent expression for the given expression as,

5x^{2} × 4x^{2}  = 20x^{2+2} = 20x^{4}

We can add the powers of x as 2+ 2 = 4.

Since the base x is same we can add the powers as per the law of exponents as, x^{m}×x^{n} = x^{m+n}

10x^{1} ×2x^{3} = 20 x^{1+3} = 20 x^{4}

So an expression that is equivalent to 20x^4 is 5x^{2} × 4x^{2} or 10x^{1} ×2x^{3}

For the love of God help me
Andrej [43]
A) Let b and r represent the cost of a bag of bark mulch and red mulch, respectively. (Always start with a "let" statement that defines your variables--usually based on what the question is asking: cost of each type.)

8b +6r = 44.50 . . . . Paul's first purchase
1b +8r = 25.50 . . . . .Paul's second purchase

b) There are many ways to solve a set of linear equations like this. I like a graphical calculator because it gives me the solution without having to think too much or do any arithmetic.

(b, r) = (3.50, 2.75)

Pine bark mulch costs $3.50 per bag.
Red mulch costs $2.75 per bag.

c) The project cost would have been
.. 14*$3.50 +10*$2.75 = $76.50

Paul would NOT have been able to make that purchase with funds available.

PLEASE HELP!!! IM GIVING 30 POINTS AND BRAINLIEST!!!!
Triss [41]
Its d
reason is that area of a traingle is base times hight divided by 2 so H times Z divided by two =(22x7)/2==77
then you add the area of the rectangle on the bottom (W times Z )= 88
77+88=165
Hope this makes sense and I get brainiest!!
