1. 2x + 5 = 19

2. 14 - 3x = 23

3. 50x / 5 = 150

1. 2x + 5 = 19

Subtract 5

2x = 14

Divide by 2

x = 7

2. 14 - 3x = 23

Subtract 14 to the other side because we have to isolate the term with x in it

-3x = 9

Divide by -3

x = -3

3. 50x / 5 = 150

Multiply by 5 to isolate the value with x

50x = 750

Divide by 50

x = 15
