(a)We can clearly see from the plot that there is direct proportion between the number of hours of homework and test scores.

Direct proportion means if hours of homework increases then test score increases  and vice-versa.

(b) we have  been given a function y=8x +40

We need to predict for 3 hours of  homework put x=3 in above function as x represents  hours of  homework  we get:

y=8(3)+40

y=24+40

y=64

Hence test score will be 64 for 3 hour of homework.

(c) 40 means the test score when there is x=0 means 0 hours o homework.
