(a)

slope of f(x):

We can select any two points to find slope

(0,-3) and (1,0)

now, we can use slope formula

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

now, we can plug values

m=\frac{0+3}{1-0}

m=3

slope of g(x):

g(x)=4x-5

we can compare it with slope intercept form of line

g(x)=mx+b

we get

m=4

so, we can see that slope of f(x) is 3 while slope of g(x) is 4

so, slope of g(x) is greater than slope of f(x)

(b)

y-intercept of f(x):

we know that y-intercept is value of y when x=0

we are given point (0,-3)

so, y-intercept is -3

y-intercept of g(x):

we know that y-intercept is value of y when x=0

so, we can plug x=0 and find y

g(0)=4*0-5

y=-5

so, y-intercept is -5

Since, -3 is greater than -5

Hence , y-intercept of f(x) has greater value.........Answer

At Taco Bell, I made a large purchase of 13 items that cost a total of $28.17. If Chicken Burritos cost $1.89 each and a Cheesy
Sonja [21]

Answer:

Number of Chicken Burritos purchased=7

Number of Cheesy Gordita Crunch purchased=6

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the number of Chicken Burritos  and y be the number of Cheesy Gordita Crunch.

Total number items purchased=13

Total cost of 13 items=$28.17

Cost of each Chicken Burritos=$1.89

Cost of each Cheesy Gordita Crunch=$2.49

We have to find number of each items purchased.

According to question

x+y=13.....(1)

1.89x+2.49y=28.17...(2)

Equation (1) multiply by 2.49 and  then subtract equation (2) from (1)

0.6x=4.2

x=\frac{4.2}{0.6}

x=7

Substitute x=7 in equation (1)

7+y=13

y=13-7=6

Number of Chicken Burritos purchased=7

Number of Cheesy Gordita Crunch purchased=6

Given the expression-1/2(4x-6) +2 (x2-5x+5) complete the instructions below
Art [367]

Answer:

  A) 2x^2 -12x +13

  B) terms {2x^2, -12x, 13}; coefficients {2, -12, 13}; constants {13}

Step-by-step explanation:

A) Using the distributive property, we get ...

  -2x +3 +2x^2 -10x +10

  = 2x^2 -12x +13

__

B) Terms: {2x^2, -12x, 13}

  Factors: There are no overall factors. Each term has factors ...

     2x^2 has factors {2, x, x}

     -12x has factors {-1, 2, 2, 3, x}

     13 has factors {1, 13} (it is prime)

  Coefficients: {2, -12, 13} . . . see note below

  Constants: {13}

_____

<em>Additional comment</em>

We have listed the prime factors of each term, any subset can be multiplied to be a factor of the term. For example, 2·3 = 6 is a factor of -12x.

Please note that some sources do not consider a constant (13) to be a coefficient. You will need to refer to your curriculum materials to see what your author says about that.

11. Given: TQ bisects ZRTP, QS || PT<br> RT = 30. Find QP, RS and QS
yaroslaw [1]

QP=24 cm

RS=11.25 cm

QS=18.75 cm

<u>Explanation</u>:

Given that TQ bisects <RTP

therefore(1)

consider ΔRQS and ΔRPT

QS||PT,RP and RT are transversals

(alternate angles)(2)

comparing (1) and (2)

and triangle SQT is isocelus

Therefore SQ=ST(sides opposite to equal angles in an isocelus triangle)

Therefore <RQS=<RPT(corresponding angles)

<RSQ=<RTP(corresponding angles)

therefore by AA criterion for similarity

ΔRQS~ΔRPT

According to the property of similar triangles

RQ/RP=RS/RT=QS/PT9/RP=X/30=QS/50\\9/RP=X/30=(30-X)/50\\X/30=(30-X)/50\\50X=30(30-X)\\50X=900-30X\\50X+30X=900\\80X=900\\X=900/80=11.25\\RS=11.25 cm\\QS=30-X=30-11.25\\QS=18.75 cm\\9/RP=X/30\\9/RP=11.25/30\\9*30/11.25=RP\\RP=24 cm

What was the equation of the graph below before it was shifted to the right 1 unit? (equation was g(x)=(x-1.5)^3-(x-1.5))
harina [27]
If graph of the function y=f(x) was shifted to the  right 1 unit, then you got new function y=f(x-1).
Reversly, if you have the function g(x)=(x-1.5)^3-(x-1.5) that is obtained by shifting to the right 1 unit, then the initial function was

g(x+1)=(x+1-1.5)^3-(x+1-1.5), \\ g(x+1)=(x-0.5)^3-(x-0.5).
Answer: Correct choice is D.
