Answer: Yes, that is a right triangle.

Step-by-step explanation:

To tell whether this is a right triangle or not you use a^2 + b^2= c^2

c is the hypotenuse the hypotenuse is the longest side of a right triangle, opposite the right angle. A and B can be either of the triangles sides.

To get this answer: 80^2+39^2 = 89^2

6400 + 1521 = 7921

7921=7921

Since they are the same this IS a right triangle. Here is a little help for if the a question asks if you have a right acute or obtuse. To tell if you have an acute triangle the sign will be a greater than sign for ex) 180 > 169. If you have a obtuse triangle the sign would be a less than sign for ex) 120 < 200.

Here is a problem like that if you do not understand:

6^2 +12^2 = 13^2 ( remember c is the hypotenuse)

36+144= 169

180 > 169

A storm is brewing, and the ship must make it to the
saul85 [17]

The distance between the ship and the light house is 139.28 km.

Solution:

The given image shows, it is right triangle.

Height = 50 km

Base = 130 km

Hypotenuse = ?

Using Pythagoras theorem,

In right triangle, square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides.

\text{Hypotenuse}^2=50^2+130^2

\text{Hypotenuse}^2=2500+16900

\text{Hypotenuse}^2=19400

Taking square root on both sides, we get

Hypotenuse = 10\sqrt{194}

Hypotenuse = 139.28 km

The distance between the ship and the light house is 139.28 km.

You are filling up a cylindrical tank with a radius of 5m with water at a rate of 3 cm^3/min. Unbeknownst to you the tank has a
Umnica [9.8K]

Answer:

dh/dt = 3/25π m/min

Step-by-step explanation:

Radius = 5m

Rate (dV/dt) = 3 cm^3 / min

Leaking rate = 1 cm^3 / min

Volume = πr^2h

Volume = π(5)^2h

V= 25πh

Differentiate volume implicitly with respect to time

dV/dt = 3 cm^3/min

3 = 25π(dh/dt)

dh/dt = 3 m^3/min /25πm^2

dh/dt = 3/25πm/min

Bruce’s hourly wage increased from $25.50 to $30.60. What rate of increase does this represent?
sleet_krkn [62]

Hello !

((new value - old value) / old value) × 100

((30.60 - 25.50) / 25.50) × 100

= (5.10/25.50) × 100

= 0.2 × 100

= 20

→ The rate of increase is 20%
