You could protest for your rights as a human, proving facts with the constitution, or another official document. You could try to talk to people who are oppressing you and figure out their beliefs and attempt to educate them on the matter. No matter what you do some people still won't believe that oppression is wrong, and thats okay but you need to remember your rights.
Life goes on even if you are rejected by your boyfriend or girlfriend. He is trying to say that there is more to life than your relationships with people.
