This is a special type of triangle, called a 30-60-90 triangle. The hypotenuse is double the shortest leg and the longest leg is the shortest leg multiplied by the square root of 3.

If the hypotenuse is 16, that means the shortest leg of the triangle is 8. Therefore, the longest leg of the triangle is 8\sqrt{3}.
