You can use elimination for this one so you can say

-2(3x+2y=10)
+2x+4y=4

So you have

-6x-4y=-20
+2x+4y=4

So you have

-4x=16

So x=-4

And then you can plug x into any one of the equations and solve for y

2(-4)+4y=4

-8+4y=4

Add 8 on both sides to get

4y=12

y=3

So in ordered pair form your answer is (-4,3)

Find the number if 5/6 of it is 55.
kow [346]

Answer:

The unknown number is 66.

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that we need to find the number that is 55 when calculated as 5/6 or the whole number. First, we must divide 55 by 5.

55 ÷ 5 = 11

This means that 1/6 of the unknown number is 11.

Now, let's multiply 11 by 6.

11 x 6 = 66

Therefore, the unknown number is 66.

Hope this helps! :)

Solve the question 2 (3x plus 5) Square - 16 = 0 buy completing the square
alisha [4.7K]

Answer:

1/3(4√2/2- 5)

-1/3(4√2/2 + 5)

Step-by-step explanation:

2(3x+5)² -16=0

2(3x+5)²=16

(3x+5)² = 4²/2

3x+5= 4/√2 ⇒ 3x= 4/√2- 5 ⇒ x= 1/3(4√2/2- 5)

3x+5= -4√2 ⇒ x= -1/3(4√2/2 + 5)
