Between 20018 and 2019 the Pew Research Center started a survey on the possibility of the American population to register to vote and to join one of the existing political parties. This census found that 34% of US citizens registered to vote have no political party affiliation. 33% had affiliation with the Democratic Party, while 29% had affiliation with the Republican Party.
