Answer:

K \approx 51.2^\circ

K \approx 128.8^\circ

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

k = 480

j = 420

\angle J = 43^\circ

Required

Find the measure of K

The value of K ranges from: 0^\circ \le K \le 180^\circ

To do this, we apply sine rule;

\frac{j}{\sin J} = \frac{k}{\sin K}

So, we have:

\frac{420}{\sin 43} = \frac{480}{\sin K}

Cross multiply

\sin K * 420 = \sin 43 * 480

Make sin K the subject

\sin K= \frac{\sin 43 * 480}{420}

\sin K= \frac{0.6820 * 480}{420}

\sin K= 0.7794

Take arc sin of both sides

K = sin^{-1}(0.7794)

K \approx 51.2^\circ

Recall that: 0^\circ \le K \le 180^\circ

The other possible value of K is:

K \approx 180 - 51.2

K \approx 128.8^\circ

Monica has walked 3/2 miles in 2/3 of an hour. How many miles can Monica walk in one hour?
defon

Answer:

<u>2.25 Miles</u> is how many miles Monica can walk <u>in one hour</u>.

Step-by-step explanation:

You take 3/2 which is 1.5 in decimal form then take the 2 out of 2/3 divide 1.5 by 2, you get 0.75 then you add 0.75 to 1.5 and <u>you get 2.25 which is how many miles she walks in one hour.</u>

parallelogram PQRS has PQ=RS=8 cm and diagonal QS= 10 cm. point F is on RS exactly 5 cm from S. let T be the intersection of PF
Doss [256]

<u>Solution-</u>

Given that,

In the parallelogram PQRS has PQ=RS=8 cm and diagonal QS= 10 cm.

Then considering ΔPQT and ΔSTF,

1-    ∠FTS ≅ ∠PTQ            ( ∵ These two are vertical angles)

2-   ∠TFS ≅ ∠TPQ            ( ∵ These two are alternate interior angles)

3-   ∠TSF ≅ ∠TQP            ( ∵ These two are also alternate interior angles)

<em>If the corresponding angles of two triangles are congruent, then they are said to be similar and the corresponding sides are in proportion.</em>

∴ ΔFTS ∼ ΔPTQ, so corresponding side lengths are in proportion.

\Rightarrow \frac{PQ}{FS} =\frac{TQ}{TS} =\frac{TP}{TF}

As QS = TQ + TS = 10 (given)

If TS is x, then TQ will be 10-x. Then putting these values in the equation

\Rightarrow \frac{PQ}{FS} =\frac{TQ}{TS}

\Rightarrow \frac{8}{5} =\frac{10-x}{x}

\Rightarrow x=3.85

∴ So TS = 3.85 cm and TQ is 10-3.85 = 6.15 cm
